The gloss finish shows water marks and fingerprints more readily; the matte finish hides them. If the grill lives outdoors unprotected all year, matte is the practical choice.
Step 2 — the base
A kamado weighs about 96 kg. Without a base you need a solid, heat-resistant surface; with the premium cart you can move it and gain working space beside the grill.

Wood and HDPE cost the same, so it is a choice between appearance and upkeep. HDPE is weatherproof and needs nothing; wood looks warmer but wants occasional attention.

If you already have a suitable heat-resistant surface — a built outdoor kitchen, for instance — you save EUR 200 by skipping the base. If you already own cast iron grates or a pizza stone from a previous grill, skip the large package and take only the ash container.
The reverse also holds: if you know you want everything, the full configuration costs less than adding the same parts individually later.
What every configuration includes
Every Evolve kamado has a 51 cm cooking grate — about 2,040 cm² of surface, roughly 20% more than a Big Green Egg Large at 1,688 cm². Included as standard: rain cover, LED handle, accessory holder, glazed heat deflectors, a two-piece firebox and a large thermometer.
